Biography

Little is recorded about George Vincent (G. V.) Shann, but from the Historical records, we find that he was born in England around the year 1847. Shann was married and had at least four children. His legacy lies in his translations of books. He translated the Book of Needs of the Holy Orthodox Church and Euchology: A Manual of Prayers of the Holy Orthodox Church. His stated goal was to unify the church in prayer and practice. Shann died in 1899 in Plymouth, England.
