A.E.J. Rawlinson
Biography
Alfred Edward John (A.E.J.) Rawlinson was also nick-named Jack. Born in England in 1884. He attended Dulwich College and Oxford's Corpus Christi College. He served in the Anglican Church as a deacon, priest, archdeacon, and bishop. He was also a college lecturer and chaplain. For six years, he was chaplain to England's King George V. Rawlinson's writings include Dogma, Fact and Experience (1915), The Anglican Communion in Christendom (1960), and Adventures in the Near East (1924). While Rawlinson's knowledge of the Bible was stellar, he had a difficult time connecting with people on a personal level. At the age of 76, Rawlinson died on July 17, 1960, in London.Wailand Groenendyk
