Waterbury, Jared Bell, a Congregational
minister, was born in New York City August
11, 1799. He was graduated at Yale
College in 1822, and subsequently studied
theology at Princeton. He was a pastor in
Hudson, N. Y., in Boston, and elsewhere.
His active and useful life closed in Brooklyn
December 31, 1876. He contributed
several hymns to The Christian Lyre, New
York, 1830, which was compiled by the Rev. Joshua Leavitt.
