Park, Roswell, an Episcopal clergyman and educator, was born at Lebanon, Conn., October 1, 1807. He received a military education, graduating at West Point in 1831, and served several years in the United States Engineer Corps. In 1842 he began to study theology, and soon after entered the ministry of the Protestant Episcopal Church. In 1852 he became President of Racine College (Wisconsin). In 1863 he founded a school in Chicago, where he died, July 16, 1869. He was the author of a volume entitled Selections of Juvenile and Miscellaneous Poems. Written or Translated.
