Brace, Seth Collins, a Congregational cleryman,
son of Rev. Joab Brace, was born
at Newington, Conn., August 3, 1811; was
graduated at Yale College, class of 1832,
and received his theological education at
the Yale Theological Seminary. He entered
the Presbyterian ministry in 1842,
but became a Congregationalist later. For
many years he was engaged in teaching
and literary work, preaching occasionally.
In 1861 he was installed pastor of a Congregational
Church at Bethany, Conn. Subsequently
he was compelled by illness to
retire from active work in the ministry.
He died in Philadelphia January 25, 1897.
