Biography

James Hope Moulton produced over 200 written works. As a scholar in the Greek language and the New Testament, Moulton’s body of works includes An Introduction to the Study of New Testament Greek and A Grammar of New Testament Greek. As evidence of his respected work, no less than four books have been written about Moulton's life and work. Born into a Methodist home in 1863, Moulton would attend King’s College and became a Wesleyan minister upon graduation. Moulton also was a teacher, prison chaplain, missionary, and philologist with a passion to learn about Zoroastrianism. At the age of 53, Moulton was aboard a ship that was torpedoed by a German U-boat. He and others were able to get into a life raft however after three days afloat, Moulton died. On April 9, 1917, he was buried at sea
