Biography

Hugh Mackintosh was a leader in the Church of Scotland. Born in Paisley in 1870, he studied at the University of Edinburgh and New College where he studied theology. He pastored the Free Church of Tayport and then became a divinity professor at New College. One of his most significant works is The Doctrine of the Person of Christ. The Christian Experience of Forgiveness is also one of his writings that impacted the Christian community with his ideas of justification and atonement. On June 8, 1936, Mackintosh died.
