THE FRUITS OF CHRIST'S TRAVAIL.

Our dearest Lord went forth to sow in tears,

When days were dark, when He was weary too;

But now the joy of harvest-tide appears,

And for His toil shall endless praise be due.

As firstfruits went He to the blessed land,

And from His woe shall fields of harvest rise;

It shall be gathered by the Lord's own hand,

From earth's four corners to th' eternal skies.
