Biography

Samuel Macauley Jackson was born in 1851 in New York City. It was there that he earned various degrees including Master of Arts, Doctor of Laws, and Doctor of Divinity. Jackson pastored a Presbyterian church in New Jersey. He also edited several major encyclopedic works, dictionaries and historical accounts. He wrote much on Zwingli such as Hulderich Zwingli, The Reformer of German Switzerland (1901). Jackson also taught Church History at his alma mater, New York University. On August 12, 1912, Jackson died but his works continue to be used for edification.
