In their letters to the emperor Frederic III. the Hungarians slay 80,000 Turks in one battle; but the modest Julian reduces the slaughter to 6000 or even 2000 infidels (Aeneas Sylvius in Europ. c. 5, and epist. 44, 81, apud Spondanum).
