Cyril of Jerusalem
Biography
Cyril of Jerusalem was born around the year 313, possibly in Jerusalem. Cyril is highly esteemed by several churches, including the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. As a Bishop of Jerusalem and theologian of the early church, Cyril wrote catechism curriculum and liturgies. Cyril did not always get along with the reigning Emperor and often suffered periods of exile for it. Pope Leo XIII appointed Cyril a Doctor of the Church. Cyril died at the age of 73 in 386 AD.Wailand Groenendyk
