Biography

George Cross wrote The Theology of Schleiermacher (1911), which is described as"a condensed presentation" of Schleiermacher's chief work, The Christian Faith. Cross, a Canadian native, was born in 1862. He earned several degrees, among them was a Doctor of Divinity. Cross-pastored a number of churches in Alberta and Ontario. He was also a professor of systematic theology at Newton Theological Institution and Rochester Theological Seminary. Besides the book, as mentioned earlier, Cross wrote What is Christianity? Creative Christianity and Christian Salvation. Cross died in 1929.
