Biography

George Cross wrote The Theology of Schleiermacher (1911) which is described as “a condensed presentation” of Schleiermacher’s chief work, The Christian Faith. Cross, a Canadian native, was born in 1862. He earned several degrees among them was a Doctor of Divinity. Cross-pastored a number of churches in Alberta and Ontario. He was also a professor of systematic theology at Newton Theological Institution and Rochester Theological Seminary. Besides the aforementioned book, Cross wrote What is Christianity,? Creative Christianity and Christian Salvation. Cross died in 1929.
