Epistle of Barnabas

by Barnabas

Summary

The Epistle of Barnabas has been thought to have been written by Paul's fellow missionary, Barnabas. Another school of thought believes this epistle was written by an unknown Christian in the first or second century. Regardless, the message of the epistle is a call for Jews to look anew at the Old Testament as setting the stage for Jesus, not simply Laws and Prophets for the Old Testament Jewish nation. The final portion of the epistle contrasts the Way of Light and the Way of Darkness.
