Joining this church in 1676, he was disciplined for “disorderly
walking” in 1679, and restored in 1680. In 1689, or perhaps a year or two earlier,
he was authorized by the church to preach publicly, probably as a
gifted brother. In the Narrative of the 1689
Assembly, no office is listed next to his name, though his companion Stephen Howtherne
is listed as pastor. He is not listed as attending the 1692 Assembly. The church
records state that in 1693, he was a member of one of the London churches.
