From: Peter Blaskiewicz [pjb@mccadm.mcc.cc.tx.us] Sent: Sunday, March 19, 2000 6:58 PM To: Harry Plantinga Subject: RE: Bevan "Three Friends of God" Dear Harry Plantinga, I have examined two copies of "Three Friends of God" at the library of Dallas Theological Seminary this weekend, and I have also heard from Brian Neil in Australia concerning the copy he worked from in typing the text. Here is a summary of the findings: - None of the three copies, nor a fourth (microfilm) copy at Southern Methodist University, prints a date on the title page nor elsewhere in the book. - None carries any copyright notice, as all copyrighted published materials after a certain date were required to do. - Brian Neil's copy carries a handwritten inscription: "R.W. Rock 1907" on the fly leaf. - The two copies at Dallas Theological Seminary are catalogued as 1887 and 1900, while a reference work in the library, listing all books in the New York City library system published prior to 1957, lists multiple copies of this book, giving the following dates: 1887(?), 1889, 190-?, and 1911(?). [The question marks are part of the listings given.] If this is sufficiently strong enough evidence for you that the book has passed into the public domain, please let me know, and I will forward the file to you for posting at your site. I look forward to hearing from you. May the Lord bless you as you wait on Him -- Peter B >Dear Peter, > >I would be happy to have it if it is in the public domain. What's the >publication date?
